Even in a booming economy, with record growth and unprecedented low unemployment, Governor Jay Inslee and the Democrats just couldn’t help themselves. This past Sunday, the legislative session adjourned and now the people of Washington state are stuck with $2 BILLION in new taxes.
In the middle of the night, Democrats in the legislature cast a series of secretive votes, with little to no discussion, that will cost you thousands of dollars. Every year. The blatant disregard for taxpayers as they take more of your hard-earned money is outrageous - some have even called it criminal. Here are just some of the new taxes:

Businesses will pay a new tax on every employee.

Doctors and medical facilities have a new tax to pass along to every patient.

Small businesses will see their tax rates rise.

Increased taxes on real estate transactions.

No caps on property taxes.

And gas prices are set to increase, too.

"Inslee has pushed relentlessly for tax increases,” the report states. “He originally campaigned on a promise not to raise taxes, but he proposed more than $1 billion in higher taxes in his first budget in 2013. In 2014, he proposed a new tax on capital gains and increases in cigarette taxes and other taxes. In 2015, he approved a gas tax increase as well as higher taxes on businesses. In 2016, he proposed broadening the bases of various taxes to raise funding for education.”
Indeed, in 2016, Inslee said “I would veto anything that heads the wrong direction and the wrong direction is new taxes in the state of Washington.” That was a lie, as evidenced by his support for a carbon tax.
